The Family Map

Where to find it. TreeLines › a Family › Map.

What it shows. Markers for the places of the Family's People,

Partners and Events. Select a marker to see its precision area,

from a site (about 250 m) to a country (about 250 km). The area is

illustrative, not a measured error.

Places that need you. A place is marked Needs location, Choose

location (pick from the possible places, which are not on any map until

chosen) or Reconfirm (a correction to check again). Move location…

sets it by latitude, longitude and precision, for every fact with that

place or only this one.

Default country. Used only when a place names no country; a country

named in the place always wins. Reallocate locations… matches every

place again from its original text, and can also discard the locations

you chose by hand.

Who can change it. Only a Family editor can say where a place is.
