The layout root

Where to find it. Right-click a person › Use as layout root.

What happens. TreeLine builds the arrangement outwards from this

person. It is saved as your TreeLine's layout, printed, and recorded in

the Recipe. Undo for it is in Layout choices.

Root or protagonist? The protagonist says whose story the chart

tells; the layout root only says where the arrangement is built from.

Choosing a root does not change who the protagonist is.

Going back. Right-click the same person › ✓ Layout root — return to

Automatic returns to TreeLine's own choice.
