Choosing which places a map shows

Where to find it. Maps on the rail, with a map selected.

Show places for. All roles, or only the roles you tick, as this

TreeLine colours them (Colour by Role). A place is shown when anyone

taking part has a chosen role, and it still counts once. Choosing a role

never ticks places.

Filters. Period (such as Victorian, or the 19th century),

Event type and Place (country or continent). Each can be Only

these or Leave these out. Within one filter the choices are

alternatives; all the filters apply at once, and nothing ticked means no

restriction.

What to expect. The filters are saved with the map, and each change is

one Undo step. Places hidden by a filter are hidden, not removed.
