Other parents — adoptive, step, foster, sealed and guardian

What it does. Records the other people who raised or were legally

responsible for someone, each with its kind: Adoptive, Step,

Foster, Sealed or Guardian, and an optional note.

Where to find it. Click the person, open Parents in the Person

pane, and under Other parents choose Add another parent…. Type a

name, choose the kind, and add a note if you wish.

What to expect. Other parents are shown in the Person pane and kept in

your exports. The chart itself draws the father and

mother above the person; other parents do not change where anyone is

placed, and are not treated as parents by overlays or by Show. Where a

relationship came from an imported file, the pane says so.
