Updating a Family from a new file

Where to find it. TreeLines, then Update on the Family. Choose

the kind of file and Continue.

The two kinds.

• GEDCOM — your complete research from genealogy software (Ancestry,
  
  Family Tree Maker and others). New and changed details come in; people
  
  and facts an earlier import gave you that the file no longer has can be
  
  removed.
• Spreadsheet template — the Family spreadsheet from Export,
  
  edited in Excel. Your edits come in; blank cells and missing rows are
  
  kept unless you choose otherwise.

What to expect. You see every change, and TreeLine makes a backup,

before anything changes.
